UTS Bachelor of Arts in International Studies 25th Anniversary

Steve Baeza Abadie, B Business and Master of Management, UTS, ICS Chile

The BAIS [gave me the] opportunity to learn and study with the students, cultures and languages that you meet from all over the world and embrace the differences we all have. Reflecting upon where I have been and what one learns whilst at UTS  I can clearly say that programs like these (BAIS) really prepares you for a globalised world that is so prominent today and I feel that all programs should be linked with these experiences opening the door to a whole new world for the professional.

Steve was a Bachelor of International Studies student in Chile.  Since graduating he has held various administrative and managing roles in logistics, non for profit, entertainment, banking and services marketing to Tertiary Education both in Australia and Latin America.   In mid-2015 he became Director of Institutional and International Affairs for the Universidad Católica Santísima Concepción, (UCSC), a BAIS partner university.

UTS did play a vital role, not only in empowering me with the vast knowledge that was given, but also in preparing me for life beyond my studies, to be be more practical and integrative thinker, learning to work with others and being Internationally ready, which can be linked to the motto ‘Think. Change. Do’
